Frozen on DVD and Blu-Ray

Good evening Love Bugs,

Not only did I get Saving Mr. Banks today, but when I came home, Frozen was waiting for me at my doorstep. (I’m actually watching it while I write this post.  I couldn’t wait any longer! LOL)

If you haven’t seen Academy Award winning Frozen, you are not going to want to miss it any longer.  Frozen is the beautiful tale of two sisters who go through an epic journey to save their kingdom and find love within each other.  Along the way, you will meet whimsical characters such as the clever and witty Olaf, the snowman, and Sven, the reindeer.  This film includes  gorgeous animation and chilling songs that are great for the entire family.  I believe that Frozen is a movie that will be remembered for generations to come, and has made it to the ‘classic’ titles such as “The Little Mermaid”, “Aladdin”, and “The Lion King”.

One thing I really love about Frozen is that it isn’t your ordinary princess movie.  Most little boys are not interested in seeing another princess find her ‘true loves kiss’.  In Frozen, I felt the animators and producers did an excellent job at making a ‘princess’ movie appropriate for all genders and ages.  It includes a sense of humor that no other Disney animated feature has.

Frozen is rated PG for mild and crude humor.  One example of this is when one of the characters mentions ‘picking your nose’ and also when Princess Anna sings a line in a song that says ‘Don’t know if i’m elated or gassy, but I’m somewhere in that zone’.  Other than that, i really did not think anything was inappropriate in this film.

The Disney Frozen Blu-Ray and DVD offers several bonus extras including:

  • “The Making of Frozen”- Learn how the movie was made
  • D’Frosted: Disney’s Journey from HAns Christian Anderson to Frozen- Join the filmmakers as they describe the 75 year journey to Frozen.
  • Deleted scenes
  • Let It Go Music Videos from Demi Lovato and Martina Stoessel (in Spanish and Italian)
  • “Get A Horse!” Mickey Short

I purchased Frozen from the Disney Store because not only do you receive a $20 credit towards a future purchase of $40 or more, you also receive four amazing lithographs with a silver Disney Store seal on the bottom left corner for its authenticity.  Below are the four lithographs I received.

I received the lithographs in this beautiful folder!  Below are the images of the front, inside, and back of the folder.  I plan to use this in my classroom!
